What The Burning Crusade gold buys you
On the Anniversary realms gold is how you progress, not something you collect. Riding comes first, then the faster riding, then flying, which opens up the parts of Outland you can't reach on foot. Around that sits the weekly bill for raiding: flasks, elixirs, potions, buff food, plus the enchants and gems that make new gear worth equipping.
The Burning Crusade makes it bite harder than vanilla did. Attunements send you through dungeons that eat consumables, reputation grinds ask for materials, and swapping talents between a raid spec and a farming spec costs you each time. In this version, running short of gold really can keep you out of a raid.
Why people buy rather than farm
Classic was built to be slow. It comes from an era when farming for an evening was the game, while most people now have a handful of evenings a week and want to spend them raiding. Buying gold here is rarely about being rich; it is about not losing your Saturday to herb routes before Sunday's raid.
Sellers price it per single coin rather than per ten thousand, which says everything about how scarce it is. A coin in The Burning Crusade is worth hundreds of times more than a retail coin.
Buying, step by step
- Open your version. Each version of the game has one page, and every realm a seller covers is a row in the table on it.
- Find your realm and pick a side. Type the name into the search box or scroll to it. Horde and Alliance each get their own button, because the seller delivers to a single character on one side.
- Pay the seller. The button opens the seller's offer for that realm and faction. You pay them in euros and name the character to deliver to; support and refunds are theirs to handle as well.

Getting the gold into your bags
The gold itself moves inside World of Warcraft, not through this website. There are four ways a seller can hand it over, and the one you get depends on who you buy from and how much.
Mailbox
What most orders use. You tell the seller your character and realm, they post the gold, and it sits in your in-game mailbox until you collect it, even if you were logged off when it arrived.
Trade window
Their character meets yours, usually in a capital, and the gold goes across in a direct trade. Common on bigger orders and quick when you're both online; stand somewhere you won't be interrupted.
Auction house
You buy an item they have listed at the agreed price, and the gold changes hands through the sale. It is slower, and the auction house keeps a cut, so sellers use it only when the other routes don't suit.
Guild bank
Only works between members of the same guild, so it is uncommon. A few sellers offer it for very large amounts.
The delivery time shown with each offer is the seller's promise, running from the moment your payment is accepted on their site. We print it as they give it, without rounding or averaging.
Why the price is what it is
The high price per coin is a supply problem. Gold can't be created, the farming spots are the same ones players used two decades ago, and the players are packed onto a small number of realms instead of spread over hundreds.
Because each realm is its own small economy, the one you play on matters far more here than in retail. Europe has only a few Anniversary realms, and whoever farms on each one sets its price.
A word of warning if you check prices elsewhere: not every realm grouped under this name is an Anniversary realm. Some marketplaces file Hardcore realms in the same place, and gold there costs several times more because one death ends a character along with the farming behind it. Go by the realm name, not the heading.
What you can hold us to
No invented numbers
Each price, stock level and delivery time is copied from the seller's live listing when the site is rebuilt. A realm nobody is selling on shows no price at all, rather than a guess.
Euros, and why
The sellers charge in euros, so that is what we print. Showing pounds would mean a converted figure that no longer matches the total at checkout.
Stars only where they're earned
A star rating appears next to a seller only when it comes from real orders. If we can't check where a rating came from, we leave it out.
Your login stays with you
No order here needs your password, authenticator code or account access. A seller who asks for any of those isn't delivering gold, so close the page and let us know.
Common questions
Is buying Anniversary gold safe?
Some risk always remains. Blizzard's terms forbid buying gold with real money, and accounts caught doing it can be penalised.
On small Classic realms the usual precautions matter even more than on retail: normal-sized orders, delivery by mail or an ordinary-looking trade, and no account details to anyone.
Why does Classic gold cost so much more than retail gold?
Because there is so little of it. Gold can't be created, the farming spots are twenty years old, and everyone plays on a few realms.
That is also why Anniversary gold is priced per coin while retail is priced per ten thousand. The cost per 1,000 gold makes the two comparable.
How fast is delivery?
Usually a few minutes, and each offer shows its own delivery time.
Face-to-face trades are more common in Classic than in retail, so it helps to be logged in.
Do I need to choose a faction?
Yes. Gold can't pass between Horde and Alliance in game, so each side is a separate button and a separate order.
Is Soulseeker the same type of realm as Thunderstrike?
We don't know, and we'd rather not guess. Blizzard hasn't published realm types for the European Anniversary realms, so we don't show a type for any of them.
The prices do show that Soulseeker behaves differently: its gold costs far more than on Thunderstrike or Spineshatter, which is what you would expect on a smaller, newer or harder realm. Make sure you are looking at the realm you actually play before comparing figures.
What do players spend it on?
Riding first, then raid consumables such as flasks, elixirs, potions and food, along with enchants, gems and talent respecs.
In The Burning Crusade, flying is the biggest single purchase most players make.
Can Anniversary gold go to a retail character?
No. Each version of the game has its own economy, and gold can't be transferred between them.
The same goes for the European and American regions.
What information does the seller need?
A character name, the realm and the faction, and that is it.
Never a password, an authenticator code or access to your account.
